Married: Anna Elizabeth (Jackson) St. John (b. 28 Dec. 1848, IA; father b. PA, mother b. OH) abt 1885. Anna was previously married to Stephen. St. John before 1872.

St. John, b. Feb. 1900, MO (MO, MO)

Annie's parents are Robert and Nancy [Cox] Jackson

Background information: Andrew^8 Jackson Van Vickle, b. 25 April 1840, Danville, IL and d. 3 Apr 1920, Holt, MO. Andrew was a confederate veteran of Co. A 10th Missouri Regiment. He married abt 1885 to Anna Elizabeth (Jackson) St. John (b. 28 Dec. 1848, Ottumwa, IN and d. 25 July 1928) She was the d/o Robert (b. PA) and Nancy (Cox) Jackson (b. OH).  Anna was first married first to Stephen St. John before 1872. Both Andrew and Anna are buried in Old Military Cemetery, Holt Co., MO.

1840 US Census for Cravenville, Daviess, MO lists William Van Vickle as male age 20 to 30 with one female age 15 to 20 (that would be wife, Nancy) and one male under five (presumably their son, Andrew). 

Familysearch.com information on William Van Vickle - b. 9 May 1822, Crawford, Lawrence, IN and m. 22 October 1838 in Crawford, IN to Nancy Pyle (b. 15 August 1822, Crawford, IN and d. 22 Sept 1909). Nancy is the d/o Edward Grant and Rosannah Mary (McMahon) Pyle. Nancy Pyle married 2nd to William Best, Crawford IN 

1850 US Census for Holt, MO lists William Van Veicle, 34, farmer, b. IA with wife, Nancy, 27, b. IA and Jackson, 10, b. IL, Sabastian, 9, b. MO, Levina, 9, b. MO, John, 4, b. IA, and Edward, 1, b. MO

IGI-familysearch.com lists a Nancy Van Vickle who married John S. Best on 6 February 1856 in Holt, MO. In that William Van Vickle died in 1854 in Holt, it is quite possible that this Nancy is William's wife who remarried a year or two after her husband's untimely death.

1880 US Census for Bigelow, Holt, MO lists Andrew Jackson Van Vickle, 40, single, b. IL (father b. IN, mother b. KY)

1880 US Census for San Jose, Santa Clarita, CA lists Nancy Best, 57, keeping house, b. IN (father b. VA, mother b. KY) with son, Willard Best, 22, farmer, b. MO (father b. IL, mother b. IN) and son, William E. Van Vickle, 27, farmer, b. MO (father b. OH, mother b. IN)
